Erie, Pa – Regional promoter and matchmaker Ernie Bizzarro is bringing boxing for the second time this year to the Flagship City. His “Tuesday Night Fights” card is November 23, at the Bayfront Convention Center. Fans enter the complex at 6:00 p.m. with the opening bell set for 7:00 p.m.
Josh Reilly of the Erie Times-News spoke with Bizzarro about the event. He said, “We’re excited. It’s a big tradition in Erie. The fans wanted it. It’s one of my favorite shows of the year. It’s something that’s been in the family, and it’s great to be back.”
The main event has Brooklin, New York’s Salim Larbi (21-11-2, 8 KOs) taking on Evincii Dixon (10-26-2, 5 KOs) from Lancaster, PA, in six rounds of explosive super welterweight action.
Larbi, 34, is originally from Cambrai, Nord, France, and coming off a fifth-round knockout of William Lorenzo (3-33-0, 1 KO) in December 2020. The bout was part of Katherine Drayton’s fight card in North Charleston, South Carolina. The 30-year-old Dixon seeks his first victory of 2021 after losing this past April by unanimous decision to Daniel Gonzalez (20-3-1, 7 KOs) in Philadelphia.
A pair of young, talented lightweights square off for four rounds when Erie’s Anthony Bizzarro (1-0-0, 0 KO) faces southpaw 23-year-old Darius Doaks (0-2-0, 0 KO) of Chambersburg, PA. Bizzarro, 21, collected his first triumph in August at Bayfront Brawl 10 with a unanimous decision over Robert Presley (0-1-0, 0 KO) of Columbus, Ohio.
Local super welterweight Jeremiah Yeager (1-1-0, 1 KO) from Erie is ready to go four rounds against Baltimore, Maryland’s Leonidas Fowlkes (2-5-0, 0 KO). Yeager pursues his second consecutive win after a fourth-round technical knockout of Ivan Hernandez (2-6-1, 2 KOs) from Dunkirk, NY, at Bayfront Brawl 10. The Tapology.com Community Predictions favors Bizzarro by 88 percent and Yeager by 95 percent to win their respective battles.
