Washington, Pa. – The first of four August fight cards from Washington to Allegheny to Lawrence Counties took place Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Meadows Racetrack and Casino. Matt McGovern and World Fighting Championships celebrated WFC 91 at the popular gaming location.

The Steel City’s Bill Hutchinson (17-2-4, 8 KOs) delivered a solid performance as he picked up his seventh consecutive victory, ninth in the Keystone State, and the 17th of his career with a fifth-round technical knockout of Justin Savi from Cotonao, Benin (31-18-2, 21 KOs). The eight-round super lightweight matchup was the main event.

Dan Karpency (8-2-0, 4 KOs), who faces off against Justin Steave (9-1-0, 4 KOs) at the Labor Day Eve boxing card Sunday, Sept. 2 at Mountaineer Casino, collected his eighth triumph opposite super welterweight Roger Blankenship (1-5-0, 0 KOs) of Cleveland. The win in the second for the 27-year-old from Adah, PA was by technical knockout.

For the third and final professional confrontation, Pittsburgh’s Deon Goodlow (1-0-0) claimed a unanimous decision after four rounds versus Cleveland super welterweight Shawn Rall (0-1-0). The judges for the trio of pro matches were Dana DePaolo, Alexis Pierce, and John Santore. Chris Riskus served as referee.

New Castle’s Dalton Rosta raised his record to 5-0-0 as an amateur heavyweight with his triumph by technical knockout over John Demus of Penn Hills. Rosta, 22, is trained by Sammy Calderone at the Downtown Boxing Club in Youngstown, Ohio, and, this December, he secures his bachelor’s degree in finance from Youngstown State. He works at the First National Bank in Hermitage, Pa.
